Howie Mandel has been rushed to the hospital after collapsing at a Starbucks in Woodland Hills, California on Wednesday.

The 65-year-old America's Got Talent judge was going for coffee with his wife Terry and some friends when he suddenly passed out and fell inside the coffee shop.

TMZ has reported that paramedics were called to help Howie before he was rushed to hospital for checks to be done.

The Los Angeles Fire Department also arrived to assist the Canadian comedian and Howie was able to sit up before he was taken to a hospital at Tarzana, California.

Howie was reportedly a regular at the coffee shop and it is believed that customers there were shocked when he collapsed.

Doctors are now running tests on Howie in hospital and sources have told the US site that low blood sugar may have been the cause of him fainting.

It was only three days ago that Howie showed he had been in hospital with a TikTok video after he had undergone a colonoscopy.

He indicated that he was on the road to getting better by tagging the video with #recovery.

The 16th season of America's Got Talent came to end last month and Howie has been enjoying some down time since then.

Howie has previously opened about his Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and how his fear of germs have led to him falling into "dark depressions" as he struggles to deal with it.

Speaking to People in June last year, he described the disorder as "living in a nightmare".

He said: "I try to anchor myself. I have a beautiful family and I love what I do. But at the same time, I can fall into a dark depression I can't get out of."

He added that it was comedy that helped him come out of the dark times, saying: "Comedy saved me in a way. I'm most comfortable onstage. And when I don't have anything to do, I turn inward — and that's not good."
