Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway shone the spotlight backstage on GMB this morning to bid a fond farewell to floor manager to the stars Tim Carr after 40 years in the business.
The Good Morning Britain presenters announced his departure before the camera panned around to Tim – wearing a Covid secure face shield – who gave a wave for viewers back home.
Ben led the way as he said: "Just a quick goodbye to our floor manager Tim who is leaving the show today, he has been with us for 40 years. We will miss you Tim."
Kate added: "Let's have a look at Tim, he's been with us for 40 years – and Ranvir knows you very well."

The two hosts were not the only ones to share their final goodbye to Tim, with Davina McCall, who has also worked alongside him, joining in with the tribute.
She wrote: "Oh my God Tim is leaving?? Floor manager extraordinaire. 40 years! Been in telly longer than me! GMB please give him a cuddle from me."
Tim has been at ITV Daytime for more than two decades of his career and has worked with the best in the business making sure things run smoothly during the live shows.
When working on This Morning, he explained: "My role is basically making sure the studio runs smoothly and efficiently for the live shows so I'm in charge of making sure everyone knows where they are, where they are meant to be.
"Making sure lighting, cameras and sound know where they are and what they are meant to be doing.
"And probably the most important thing is looking after the presenters.
"The thing I like about my job the most is the variety, every day is different, different guests on, different items. You just never know what you are going to be doing from one day to the next."
Tim can just about be seen through his face shield as the camera pans on to him to say farewell
He added working in live TV doesn't come without it's challenges as he adds: "Two hours of live telly, anything can happen… and it normally does!"
And one of those blunder was Tim's appearance on camera as he was spotted on screen during a live show.
At the time, host Adil Ray shouted: "Was that a crew member walking in front of the shot?!"
Before adding: "The floor manager, very good," while Susanna laughed: "Like an action shot!"
The pair chuckled at Tim before moving on to the next segment, so it's clear he certainly gave the hosts a laugh from time to time.
