Britney Spears is finally in the spotlight with some good news.

.

Her boyfriend Sam Asghari has popped the question after dating the singer since 2016 and he says all he wants to do is make her happy.

Britney met Iranian fitness model Sam on the set of her Slumber Party video and after he stuck by her throughout her conservatorship drama, he's decided now is the time to make it official.

Britney shared a sweet video of her showing off her $70,000 sparkler ring to her 33.9 million Instagram followers alongside the caption: "I can’t f****** believe it," with a host of ring emojis.

Fans flocked to social media to show their approval and now Sam has said he'll do anything for his girl.

Speaking about Britney to Men's Health he said: “I just want her to be happy, if it makes her happy I’ll do it. I’m not going to argue . What’s that saying? ‘Happy wife, happy life.’”

The couple do seem to be idyllically happy, especially when they're working out together.

Britney and Sam regularly share strength-training, cardio and boxing vids in their incredible home gym.

They're also keen hikers and can often be seen burning calories in the Hollywood Hills.

Of their fitness goals Sams said: “A lot of people don’t get that she’s a crazy, crazy athlete. We play tennis together. We play ping-pong together. She’s really good at ping-pong. It’s a real competition.

"And I’m competitive, but I try to take it easy. Not because she’s a woman. Not because she’s weak, because she’s not."

Obviously fame is part and parcel of dating someone as famous as Britney Spears, but Sam says he's not interested in being in the limelight.

He told the publication that fame "is not a job' and that he didn't want it to 'mess with his spirit or happiness.'

After hearing his client's happy news sam's manager Brandon Cohen shared a statement saying he is "proud to celebrate and confirm the engagement".

He said: "The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication and love expressed to them."

The news comes after Britney recently celebrated a legal victory in the conservatorship that controls her life and career, as dad Jamie agreed to step down and filed to end the conservatorship last week.

Sam has been a loyal supporter of the My Perogative singer throughout and even sported a Free Britney shirt.

In August, Britney praised her beau on Instagram for helping her through the "hardest years" of her life.

She wrote in the sweet post: "Not only has this cute a**hole been with me through the hardest years of my life but he happens to be an extremely good cook! Fast & Furious franchise, don't miss out on your next star."
