Cardi B reveals position as creative director at PLAYBOY and founding member of creator-led platform

On Wednesday, she added more digits to her bank account after selling out of her vodka-infused whipped cream.

And the very next day Cardi B revealed that she keeps on making money moves.

The 29-year-old Bodak Yellow hitmaker took to her Instagram on Thursday morning to post that she has been named the first ever creative director in residence at iconic nude publication Playboy.

It doesn’t stop there as she will also be the founding creative director and founding member of the creator-led platform from Playboy called Centerfold.

Social media and influencer culture have paved the way for creator-led platforms like internet subscription service OnlyFans to thrive in recent years and the men’s lifestyle and entertainment publication is hoping to tap into that market with the move.

Cardi gave a preview of what to expect on the platform as she posted images in her announcement along with song lyrics and the words ‘a dream come true’ emblazoned over it.

The New York native – born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar – is ecstatic about the opportunity as she captioned the image: ‘Introducing the FIRST EVER Creative Director In Residence at the legendary @playboy, it’s ME!!!

This comes just a day after the rap star’s Whipshots – a vodka-infused whipped cream – went on sale on Wednesday, and the cans were all purchased by her fans in a remarkably short amount of time.

The WAP hitmaker initially wrote on Twitter: ‘Whipshots are here yall!!! – Get yours today 12pm est at whipshots.com.’

The performer went on to express that her product would impress fans with its ingenuity and enjoyability.

She noted: ‘We got new drops every day because I want errbody to get theirs. Yoou never had whipped cream like this before I promise.’

And Cardi later wrote on the platform: ‘Wowowow whipshots sold out already!! We got more tomorrow though.’

The hitmaker issued a statement at the time that read: ‘I’m so excited to join Starco Brands with this incredible opportunity. Whipshots matches my style – over the top, sexy, unique.’

She added: ‘Together we’re completely innovating whipped cream and giving it an extra pop.’

The performer concluded her message by writing: ‘Whipshots is Cardi in a can.’

Meanwhile, Cardi recently collaborated with Lizzo on their hit single ‘Rumors’, and the singer subsequently hailed the rap star as a game-changer for female artists.

The 33-year-old performer relished the experience of teaming up with Cardi, who worked as a stripper before finding fame and success in the music business.

Asked what she loves about the rapper, Lizzo explained during an interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music: ‘Cardi B is the ultimate. She, to me, has always done it right.’

The Juice singer added that the performer had been a major source of inspiration for her in the recent past.

She added that Cardi B ‘just follows her heart. That’s what I love about her.’
