Chrissy Teigen was emotional as she opened a slew of delayed condolence letters just months after her baby son Jack was tragically stillborn in late September 2020.
The embattled 35-year-old Cravings founder took to Instagram on Wednesday to show off a hefty pile of supportive fan mail she ‘just got’ as she promised to read them all.
Though the letters were sent to her agency William Morris Endeavor last year, Teigen explained that the mailroom had ‘shut down’ amid the pandemic and only recently ‘opened back up,’ upon which she received them.

‘You are not alone’: ‘You guys sent the most amazing condolence letters and cards and books, and I just want you to know we got all of them, all of them. I’m gonna read them all okay?,’ Teigen said on Instagram
‘I got this okay, I got it and I love you,’ she continued to say, as she showed off one letter in particular which read in excerpt ‘I do not know if you will get this but I wanted to let you know, October is pregnancy and infant loss awareness month.’
The loyal fan continued to say that they would ‘light a candle for Jack on October 15,’ which continued to cause waterworks from the model.
Teigen first announced she and Legend were expecting in August, before tragically losing their baby — who they dubbed Jack — halfway through the pregnancy in late September.
Following days of bleeding which caused a stint in the hospital, doctors diagnosed Teigen with partial placental abruption – where the placenta separates from the wall of the uterus causing the baby’s airflow to be blocked or limited – at which point her body could not sustain the child.
Grief stricken: The Cravings founder announced that she had lost son Jack halfway through her pregnancy last September and has been on a journey of healing ever since
Heartbreaking: ‘Driving home from the hospital with no baby. How can this be real,’ she tweeted shortly afterwards
Supportive: ‘I didn’t know that we could experience this grief and also share it, but when we did, it really meant so much to so many people and it was such a powerful experience for me to learn that, and I’m just grateful that my wife was courageous enough to do it,’ Legend told GMA
‘We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough’ her lengthy caption began.
Chrissy continued to say that their baby ‘had worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever,’ before she apologized that Jack’s life was met with ‘so many complications,’ and that her womb could not house him the way he needed.
She had penned an emotional essay on Medium after taking time off of social media and later confessed to have been in grief counseling, taken up horseback riding for therapy and even embarked on a journey of sobriety.
And Legend had said in a November Good Morning America interview: ‘I didn’t know that we could experience this grief and also share it, but when we did, it really meant so much to so many people and it was such a powerful experience for me to learn that, and I’m just grateful that my wife was courageous enough to do it.’
