Colin Hanks, Dan Fogler and Giovanni Ribisi join Paramount +’s TV series The Offer

Paramount +’s  new TV series The Offer has added three more actors to its cast, Colin Hanks, Dan Fogler and Giovanni Ribisi.

The new series chronicles the making of Paramount’s 1972 Best Picture winner The Godfather, considered one of the greatest movies ever made.

Hanks, Fogler and Ribisi will join a growing cast including Miles Teller and Matthew Goode, according to The Wrap.

Cast: Hanks, Fogler and Ribisi will join a growing cast including Miles Teller and Matthew Goode, according to The Wrap 

The show is based on producer Albert S. Ruddy’s experiences behind-the-scenes during the making of The Godfather.

Teller is playing Ruddy, with Goode portraying another iconic Hollywood figure, Robert Evans, the head of production for Paramount who helped turn the studio around.

Hanks will portray Barry Lapidus, an executive at Gulf + Western, the company which bought Paramount Pictures in 1966, with Lapidus having a lot of ‘sway’ at the studio.

Ribisi is playing real-life mobster Joe Colombo, who was also head of the Italian-American Civil Rights League, who was instrumental in making the movie. 

Ruddy was originally set to be portrayed by disgraced actor Armie Hammer, who bowed out after sexual misconduct allegations surfaced against him.

Nikki Toscano and Michael Toklin will serve as co-writers and executive producers on the project, with Toscano serving as showrunner.

The 91-year-old Ruddy will also serve as executive producer alongside Teller and Leslie Greif.

Dexter Fletcher (Rocketman) is slated to direct several of the episodes, including the pilot, while also serving as executive producer.

Fogler currently plays Luke on AMC’s The Walking Dead and he’ll return as Jacob Kowalski next year in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 3.

Hanks stars in How It Ends with Zoe Lister-Jones, Cailee Spaeny and Whitney Cummings, in theaters July 20.

Ribisi returns as Parker Selfridge in the upcoming Avatar sequels, and he’ll next be seen in the TV series On the Verge.
