David Ginola reveals he was once ‘obsessed’ with his teacher and he ‘unnerved her’

David Ginola revealed he was once in love with his teacher and became so ‘obsessed’ with her that she had to ring his parents.

The former professional footballer, 54, admitted he ‘unnerved her’ because he ‘would stare at her all the time.’

The I’m A Celeb campmate shared: ‘The first time I fell in innocent love was at school – with my English teacher Madame Bonnemain.’

He continued: ‘She was beautiful to me, the way she spoke, the way she moved on the raised platform in class like a dancer.

‘She was brunette and had a lovely body, with nice eyes and a pretty face. I used to sit in the front row of class and would stare at her all the time to the point where it unnerved her.’

‘She knew I was staring into her eyes and used to look back into mine, but it was always she who had to turn away first and look to the floor.

‘She even called my parents to tell them that I made her feel a bit uncomfortable and asked them to have a word with me.’   

However David wasn’t always as unlucky in love as he married a string of fashion models including his first wife Coraline Delpin in 1991.

The couple went on to have a son and a daughter, Andrea, 26, and Carla, 22.

However they split after a 25 year marriage and David entered a relationship with model Maeva Denat, with whom he has a 16-month-old daughter with.

The former Spurs and Newcastle footballer explained in full: ‘Just playing football and at one stage you just fall on the floor. So they have to perform CPR for 12 minutes and they arrive with the defibrillator and they shocked me one time, two times, three times…

The DJ asked: ‘Is that true about something that happened to you? You died and came back?’

‘I passed away for 12 minutes,’ David said, to which Naughty Boy replied, ‘I didn’t think that was possible.’

‘They said, ‘I think your friend is dead.’ A fourth, fifth time… the fifth time, a heartbeat. The surgeon said, ‘You’ve been very lucky David, it’s a miracle. In your condition 9 out of 10 would have died.”

He added: ‘When you come back from that you just have your mind full of questions: ‘Is it a message, am I going back for a second life for a purpose?’ Because when you’re fighting when you’re dead, you’re on the crossroad – there’s life and death.’

Speaking in the Telegraph, Richard Madeley drew on the close bonds the campmates had quickly formed.

‘Here’s a good example of how quickly we’ve become very, very close in here and very open with each other. Now that is a big story to tell. You don’t ask somebody lightly to talk about that,’ the presenter said.

Surgeons needed to perform a quadruple bypass to save his life.

David rounded up the conversation by saying: ‘It’s one of a kind, because you don’t have any warnings. You could just walk like this and boom, fall over and it’s over. It is crazy when you think about it. Come on, let’s cook some rice. We need some rice and beans to get stuck in!’
