Dominic West looks the spitting image of Prince Charles while filming the fifth season of Netflix show The Crown.

Copying the mannerisms of the future king Dominic, 52, takes on the role which won Josh O’Connor, 31, a Golden Globe award in March.

Imelda Staunton, 65, will play the Queen as the show covers her 1992 “annus horribilis”, when Windsor Castle caught fire.

The Crown season 5 is due to be released on Netflix in November 2022.

This would follow the release pattern of previous seasons and we should expect the sixth and final season in 2023.

Previous seasons all numbered 10 episodes each.

The upcoming fifth season will tackle the early 1990s and the dramatic events that befall the House of Windsor.

The fourth season ended in 1990 with the ousting of Margaret Thatcher from the office of the Prime Minister.

If the show follows previous seasons we can likely expect events to end towards the end of John Major’s tenure as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and the end of the Prince and Princess of Wales’ marriage in 1996.

However, with Elizabeth Debicki confirmed to appear in season 6 then Diana’s death in 1997 will not be depicted in this upcoming season.

The show will reportedly depict the infamous Panorama interview that Diana did with Martin Bashir where she aired her issues with her marriage and Charles.

Also, this season will tackle The Queen’s relationship with Prime Minister John Major and we shall see his term in power portrayed.

The season is also set to feature the Royal Family’s close friend Penny Knatchbull.

We will also likely see the continued poor health of Princess Margaret in the new episodes.
