Edinson Cavani

The Uruguayan has six months left on his current deal, but is unlikely to sign an extension with Rangnick coming in.

Cavani has done a job for United in the short-term with their lack of a traditional no.9 dating back to last season.

He had a brilliant end to the second half of last year, but hasn't carried that form over to the current campaign, partially due to injuries, but also the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo who has played in his position.

Rangnick will likely target a striker in the summer with Erling Haaland at the top of his shortlist, resulting in Cavani's exit.

It's been reported in Spain that Barcelona are keen on making a move for the talisman, a deal that could even materialise in January.

Paul Pogba

The Frenchman is another United player with an expiring contract who is set to leave the club in the summer.

The club were desperate for the midfielder to extend his stay under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but contract talks have broken down on several occasions.

It remains to be seen what Rangnick's plans are regarding Pogba but his game certainly doesn't suit the new manager's high pressing style of football.

It didn't seem like Pogba was going to stay around beyond this season, but Rangnick's arrival has all but confirmed that.

Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba could both leave Manchester United for free next summer

Jesse Lingard

The midfielder is also set to be a free agent at the end of the season and has made it clear he wants regular first-team football after being frozen out by Solskjaer this term.

But unlike Pogba, Rangnick's arrival could change Lingard's stance.

He is a player who would actually fit in well with the manager's system and if he can work his way into his plans, it's not a foregone conclusion he will leave.

At the same time, Lingard could just want a change of scenery after a frustrating few years in Manchester amid reports he is looking to join a team in Europe.

Diogo Dalot

All signs pointed to Diogo Dalot leaving United in the summer, but he ended up staying put after an impressive loan spell with AC Milan.

That decision indicated he would be given a chance to stake his claim in the side, but the full-back struggled for playing time under Solskjaer.

The 22-year-old has made just 24 Premier League appearances since joining from Porto in June 2018 as Jose Mourinho brought him to the Red Devils.

And the latest reports suggest the Portuguese manager is keen on reuniting with Dalot at Roma as he looks set to exit United in the summer.

The winger has had his moments in a United shirt, but he has never really lived up to his potential.

And this season has been one to forget for the Frenchman with Mason Greenwood, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Ronaldo all ahead of him in the pecking order.

It's been claimed that Barcelona are willing to offer him a fresh start, but either way, it seems his time at United is coming to an end.

Donny van de Beek

The Dutchman has needed time to adjust to life in the Premier League, but it's not something he has been afforded.

Solskjaer wasn't willing to give him a chance despite his first-team stars misfiring for a sustained period.

Fans were pleading for Van de Beek to be freed, but it was to no avail.

The playmaker is reportedly unhappy at how he has been treated and is looking for a move elsewhere in January.

Rangnick's arrival could change his opinion, but there is also a chance it could be too little, too late.
