BBC Radio 5 Live reported the fan who suffered the medical issue was able to walk away from his seat with the assistance of medics.

The incident occurred in the closing stages of the match as Chelsea were coasting towards February's final at Wembley with a commanding 3-0 aggregate lead.

Antonio Rudiger put the Blues in front with a header in the 18th minute to increase their 2-0 advantage from the previous week's first leg.

Spurs saw two penalties overturned by VAR and a goal chalked off for offside, but they were second best to their London rivals by some distance.

Rudiger – who was named man of the match for his goal and clean sheet – drew lavish praise after the match from Jamie Redknapp in the Sky Sports studio.

The former Liverpool, Tottenham and England midfielder urged Chelsea to tie the German down to a new contract ahead of his deal's expiry this summer, saying: "Brilliant, you’ve got to sign him up. You have to.

"Unfortunately clubs don’t want to pay the top dollar.

"But, if you were to let him go in the summer you’re going to have to buy someone for £40million, £50 million whatever it is to replace him and give them the big wages.

"It’s almost better going, 'we love you, you’re a massive part of this club. You’ve been so influential in the Champions League win last year'."

Redknapp added: "The crowd love him (Rudiger). I think if he says what he means and wants to stay at the club – then it’s all there for him.

"He can achieve all the ambitions. They’re going places. They always have been. The owners have always spent the big money they need, they need to get him signed up very quickly."
