The post comes after Holly admitted to smuggling gin into the final of last year’s show.

She used her children’s water bottles to hide the beverage into the event – which she shared with co-presenter Phillip Schofield.

The 2021 show was full of difficulties, including injury and was forced off the air at one point, causing Phil, 59, and Holly to turn to sipping on G&Ts in the final ad break of the series.

Holly revealed: ‘Last year because of Covid we weren’t allowed a wrap party so I snuck in two of my kids’ water bottles with their names on.’

She went on: ‘Nobody could see what was inside, and I filled them up with gin and tonics, one for Phil and one for me, and in the last ad break before the end, I was like, “we can bring out the gin now.”‘

‘We both sat there and had a gin and tonic. We don’t do this on every ad break but for the final there was no wrap party and after the last series we all needed it.’

Last series, the show was thrust into chaos on numerous occasions as viewers saw the departure of Denise van Outen, Billie Faiers and Jason Donovan following injury.

The long-running ITV show returns on January 16th, with stars including Love Island’s Liberty Poole, Coronation Street’s Sally Dyvenor and former S Club 7 singer Rachel Stevens all hoping to avoid any slip-ups after spending much of the winter rehearsing on ice rinks across the country.

The new series of Dancing on Ice starts this Sunday at 6.30pm on ITV.
