Home Sweet Home Alone updates the Christmas classic with Archie Yates and Ellie Kemper

The Home Alone remake has gotten its first trailer, promising all the charm and holiday hijinks of the 1990 original with a British twist.

Just like the original 31-years ago, Home Sweet Home Alone follows a boy who was left behind from a family vacation during Christmas, only to have to fend off a pair of clumsy criminals.

Instead of Macaulay Culkin’s iconic Kevin McCallister, British actor Archie Yates takes the lead as Max Mercer while Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney play the bandits in the flick, out November 12, 2021 exclusively on Disney+.

Happy holidays! The Home Alone remake Home Sweet Home Alone has gotten its first trailer, showing Brit Archie Yates in the lead role

While Max’s family accidentally forgets him on the way to Tokyo he tries to make the most of the big empty house, pigging out on candy and toying around with a trampoline.

But when he realizes he’s in the company of a pair of robbers looking for a family heirloom, he forms a plan to protect his home.

Just like the original he crafts a series of booby traps to battle Kemper and Delaney’s bumbling bandits, making a billiards ball shooter and covering the driveway with ice.
