Emmy-nominated songwriter Ingrid Michaelson detailed the entire story behind her mistakenly announcing Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid’s ‘marriage’ last week.

‘Maybe I just start revealing [other] celebrity marriages,’ the 41-year-old Staten Island native joked on Tuesday’s episode of Christine & Salt on 96.5 TIC FM.

‘So I’ve had my brief experience of being a super famous person and I don’t like it. I’m done…I want to wear, like, a mask and just never be seen by anyone ever again.’

The 41-year-old Staten Island native (M) joked on Tuesday’s episode of Christine & Salt: ‘Maybe I just start revealing [other] celebrity marriages!’

Ingrid and the 28-year-old Englishman co-wrote and sang on the ballad To Begin Again – which dropped March 17 – but they never met and only communicated through their managers.

Michaelson was then asked on March 29 about Zayn during her monthly members-only Patreon livestream, which she believed was ‘a safe zone’ where she could speak freely to super fans.

‘I said something along the lines of: “He’s a really private guy. He’s married. He has a kid. He just doesn’t want to deal with stuff he doesn’t want to deal with,”‘ the Build It Up songstress recalled.

‘I don’t know, I thought he was married! So spoiler alert – not married! Somebody was in the chat livestream that was dictating everything I said about him and posted it on Twitter.’

Cut to three hours later and the phrase ‘Zayn is married’ became the No. 1 trending topic on Twitter and Ingrid’s phone was filled with distressed DMs.

‘I was like, “Oh no!”‘ Michaelson groaned.

‘It was a whole thing. And I had to go on Instagram and be like, “So you guys, as far as I know he’s not…” I don’t even feel like I have the right to say he’s not married. Like at this point, I’m afraid to say anything. So I was like, “As far as I know, he is not married. But I really don’t know anything. I am sorry and that’s it.”‘
