Dawn French has given fans a glimpse inside her 64th birthday party.

The Vicar of Dibley star was treated to a gourmet meal with with her husband Mark Bignell and friends – and she shared a selection of stunning snaps of her memorable occasion on Instagram.

Her nearest and dearest ensured she had a magnificent celebration by setting up a display of balloons for her.

The actress was also treated to a triple chocolate dessert with a brownie on top.

The delicious cake was garnished with strawberries and a side of vanilla ice-cream.

Dawn's big day was also made even more atmospheric with candles and she was gifted a beautiful bouquet of stunning white and pink roses.

The actress shared a snap of the balloon display and told how delighted she was about the effort that had been put into her birthday bash.

Dawn gushed: "Couldn’t be happier on m’64th birthday.

"Balloons & cake & flowers & Choc limes & a walk on Watergate Bay with m’husband & m’gusband".

Dawn's husband also rustled up giant Cornish pasties which were polished off by Dawn and her guests.

The French and Saunders actress shared pictures of her creation and joked in the caption: "Returned home to these MAHOOOSSSIVE pasties made by husband. The actual size of actual oil tankers. Or… 15’’ …. in old money. Preposterous. And entirely installed inside us right now. Appalling greedy behaviour. #properjob#oggies #renewhusbandlicence."

Dawn also also told her fans that she enjoyed a gorgeous sunset stroll along Watergate Bay beach near her home in Cornwal, as she shared a snap of the gorgeous location.

Dawn has recently ditched her iconic brown bob and gone for a more natural grey hair – and she showed off her new barnet on a night out with pals.

The Vicar of Dibley star, 63, shared a selfie displaying her cropped hairdo which she has been sporting since the summer.

Dawn also shared a snap of her with Joy Carroll Wallis, an English priest who inspired The Vicar of Dibley.

And she sung her praises in the caption, saying: "Love this bird. Joy Carroll Wallis . The original / inspiration for Vicar Of Dibley. She is EVERYTHING GOOD."

She also recently showed off a funky quiff hairdo in an Instagram pic where she is seen with two pals.
