Janet Street-Porter has made her opposition to Prince Harry’s latest statement on the environment abundantly clear, calling out the duke’s call for people to imagine themselves as ‘raindrops’.
Earlier this week, the Duke of Sussex took part in a conversation to promote a new Netflix-style platform for environmental documentaries called WaterBear.
During the discussion, Harry encouraged people to imagine being a raindrop, saying: ‘Every single raindrop that falls from the sky relieves the parched ground. What if every single one of us was a raindrop, and if every single one of us cared?’
While discussing his latest comments on Loose Women, panelist Janet, 73, criticised the duke’s call for people to imagine themselves as ‘raindrops’, stating: ‘I’ve got news for you Harry, if you’re watching Loose Women in Santa Barbara – there’s not one kind of raindrop.’
She then went into a rant detailing the many kinds of raindrops there are, including ‘big fat rain’, ‘rain that plops down on you’, ‘mizzle, which is misty rain’, ‘sideways rain, which is when it’s windy’ and ‘confusing rain’, which is when rain ‘starts and then stops’.
Janet concluded her lengthy statement by saying: ‘So, Harry love, have a rethink, issue another bulletin please.’

Andrea McLean, who announced on Monday that she is leaving Loose Women after 13 years, seemed taken aback by Janet’s statement.
‘Of all the things you were going to say, I genuinely didn’t think you would pull him apart on the raindrop bit,’ she said incredulously.
Andrea then added that as a ‘former weather girl’, she ‘applauded’ Janet’s knowledge of different kinds of raindrops.
Earlier this morning, Susanna Reid described her Good Morning Britain co-host Piers Morgan as ‘ridiculous’ for his views on Harry’s environmental statement.
‘He was doing another one of his hostage videos yesterday, telling us all that we should all be like a raindrop,’ Piers said on the programme.

‘‘What if every one of us was like a raindrop?” This is to cure the world of global warming.’ Piers added: ‘From his Californian mansion, which coincidentally has 16 bathrooms.’
Susanna then chimed in, saying: ‘Do your bit for the environment, that’s what he’s saying.’
Loose Women airs on weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
