Simon and Lauren, who got engaged last Christmas, are thought to be having the nuptials at the Grade I stately home in June.

Although the couple are not short of Hollywood pals and have the funds to throw an over-the-top soiree, Lauren has told friends that she has no desire to throw an outlandish party with loads on guests and Simon’s fellow BGT judge David Walliams told on Thursday that even he hasn’t been invited yet.

It was at Cliveden House that former war minister Jack Profumo began his relationship with 19-year-old Christine Keeler in July 1961, which led to one of the greatest political scandals of the 20th century – the Profumo affair.

The potential property is set upon 376 acres of beautifully presented National Trust grounds and boasts a luxurious five-star Relais & Châteaux hotel and spa where weddings are held.

In terms of pricing, the house offers various packages, including the ‘Romantic Package’ which is suitable for 8-16 guests and costs £450 per adult.

Set on 376 acres, the luxe hotel is set in the sprawling mansion which was built in 1666 and is located six miles from Dorney Lake and nine miles from Windsor Castle.

Elegant rooms feature plush décor, antique furnishings and stunning fireplaces as well as terraces with hot tubs.

There’s also a posh three-bedroom cottage with a kitchen on site while other amenities include afternoon tea served in a grand lounge while a chic spa offers hot tubs, an outdoor pool and a gym, plus tennis courts.

It comes as Britain’s Got Talent judge David revealed he has yet to receive an invitation to Simon’s wedding and hasn’t been asked to be the best man either.

Appearing on The One Show on Thursday night, David, 50, was asked whether he was going to be the best man.

‘No,’ he replied, before saying of the media reports: ‘I don’t know if that is actually true.’

‘I hope so, but he might keep it very small.’

One Show presenter Alex Scott told him: ‘You need to get in touch with that wedding planner, imagine.’

Speaking about Lauren, David replied: ‘I think she will want a big wedding. I don’t imagine it will be a small thing.’

He then joked: ‘But obviously I want to be there and ruin the day for him.’

Sources told MailOnline this week that socialite Lauren is keen to restrict the guest list to just family and close friends, and limit the number of celebrities involved in the ceremony.

A source close to the pair revealed that Simon’s ex Sinitta had been keen to get involved in the big day, but Lauren was quick to tell her no.

Simon proposed to Lauren on Christmas Eve in Barbados with their son Eric, eight, present, and it was previously claimed that the couple are keen to have the youngster ‘front and centre’ at the ceremony.

A source told The Sun: ‘Simon cannot wait to have Lauren as his wife and didn’t see the point in delaying it. He has taken charge of the planning and the date has been set for June.

‘The ceremony is going to take place in London, with their son Eric front and centre, naturally. It’s been a long time coming and now Simon wants to get Lauren up the aisle as quickly as he can.’

American socialite Lauren also has son Adam, 16, from her previous relationship with businessman Andrew Silverman.

Despite Simon’s previous staunch vows to never walk up the aisle, an insider previously claimed the past two years – in which the global pandemic hit and the star broke his back after a bike crash – made Simon change his stance.

A source told People: ‘They have fun together, as well as being each other’s rock.

‘They are both passionate but really do bring out the very best in each other. As a family, they all have such an incredible bond.

‘A lot of things have happened in the last few years and just like for everyone else in the world, these things have all been a reminder about what is precious to them.

Simon previously admitted that he can’t see himself ever dating again as he opened up on changing his mind about marriage after falling in love with Lauren.

He said he decided to propose to his long-time girlfriend in January after feeling like they were already engaged while living together during lockdown.

He described the Covid-19 pandemic as a ‘make or break’ moment for relationships and said lockdown helped him and Lauren to grow closer and realise how much they get on.

Simon, who has never been married, admitted that he can’t see himself dating ever again as he leaves his bachelor lifestyle behind to tie the knot with Lauren.

He told The Sun: ‘I also just couldn’t see myself ever dating anyone again. The idea of going out on a first date now is too weird.’

Despite previously insisting that he ‘didn’t believe’ in marriage, the father-of-one has reassessed his views after falling in love with Lauren.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge revealed another reason he decided to propose was because he felt it was the right thing to do for their son Eric.

‘For Eric, as he gets older, he will be asked more and more about his parents, and I thought it was the right thing to do for him,’ he added.
