Montana Brown shot to fame starring in the 2017 series of Love Island.

And she has opened up about how appearing on the show really knocked her self-confidence.

She explained how she felt such a pressure to get work done on her face that she ended up getting cheek fillers on a whim.

The reality star admits she went home and "sobbed" after rushing to have the procedure done.

Speaking to Vicky Pattison on her podcast The Secret To, she said: "I remember going to my first event and I was speaking to someone who had been in the industry for a long time and she was talking about Botox and fillers.

"I was only 20 and none of my friends had anything done. It was just a foreign thing to me.

"And the next day, I remember I just googled botox and filler clinic, genuinely and I made an appointment.

"I remember having this filler in my cheeks and I just remember I got home and I sobbed because I was like 'what have I done? I have ruined my face'. It's heartbreaking."

Montana felt "overwhelmed" when she exited the programme and struggled with her confidence.

"I think I definitely felt so overwhelmed when I left because especially through our series, nobody knew it was going to be big. Nobody went in with the expectation," she added.

"Now I never had a confidence problem until I went on Love Island. I started picking myself apart because people were like, 'she's got a lazy eye' … and I started thinking I had a lazy eye and considered getting eye surgery."

The 25-year-old recently issued a warning to the new crop of Islanders, as she admitted she "behaved like a bit of a brat" for the first year after the show.

Speaking to Cosmopolitan magazine, she shared: "The first year after Love Island, I behaved like a bit of a brat – people give you everything for free, and do everything for you.

"But you can’t forget that you’re quite disposable in this industry. Future contestants need to know what they’re getting into, and also understand that fame and money don’t last forever."

She also admitted she felt "pressure" to be like her fellow Islanders in a bid to get the best brand deals.

"You psycho-analyse yourself, because you feel pressure to look a certain way in order to get the work," she said.

"As time’s gone on, I’ve learned you can’t copy people. I had to find what I was passionate about beyond social media, and now use it as a place to keep up with my friends."
