Made In Chelsea’s Harvey Armstrong teases ‘a rough round’ for him and Emily Blackwell

Made In Chelsea star Harvey Armstrong has teased a series of ‘break ups and fix ups’ for the new 22nd series of the E4 show, which returned to screens this Monday.

The reality star is dating fellow cast member Emily Blackwell, famously getting together on the brink of lockdown in 2020, as the COVID pandemic hit.

And speaking to MailOnline, Harvey revealed that filming the new series in the ‘real world’ again, as well as launching his own beer brand – Prime Time Lager – put some strain on the fledgling couple – who seem to have made it through nonetheless.

‘Em and I now live together and had a bit of a rough round during the new season – with pressures from me working on the beer and lockdown easing up,’ Harvey explained.

‘The new season is an emotional rollercoaster; I would say it’s the series of break ups and fix ups, with a lot of single mingling going on as well.

‘There is a lot of excitement and drama now we are all out of lockdown and interactions are allowed and ‘fun’ can be had again. But it was actually extremely tough, as my relationship started just before the first lockdown with Emily and within weeks we were living together.

‘We only really knew lockdown versions of each other! And then things were building up to the launch of Prime Time. There was that, coupled with the world opening up again. It was a serious strain on our relationship.’

Prime Time – which Harvey has launched alongside fellow cast member Sam Holmes – is the world’s first caffeine-infused low-calorie lager, targeted at consumers who are health-conscious but still want to have a good time.

Being a world first, the endeavour clearly took up much of Harvey’s time.

‘I was working 16 hour days and then going out on the weekends and I think Emily felt a lack of attention – so it was definitely a hurdle we’ve overcome,’ Harvey explained. ‘She’s now more used to my workload and I try to put an evening aside a week to turn off from work.

Harvey said: ‘We didn’t really know what we were really like in the real world. I am a bit of a party animal and love a beer – obviously – so there was a bit of getting used to that for Emily. I guess she suddenly didn’t have my undivided attention…’

Back on screens: MIC returned to TV on Monday for its 22nd run – with the cast out of lockdown for the first time in nearly a year

While the couple’s ups and downs will play out during the new 22nd series of Made In Chelsea, so will Harvey’s business launch, with the cast attending a party to debut the product.

‘We saw a clear demand for a lager that didn’t induce fatigue or come with all the unnecessary calories of currently available lagers,’ Harvey explained. ‘With beer being one of the most consumed products in the world, we saw a huge opportunity to challenge the stagnant and saturated beer market, with an innovative new lager option.’

I’ll drink to that! Prime Time was launched by Harvey alongside fellow cast member Sam Holmes

Naughty but nice! It’s the world’s first caffeine-infused low-calorie lager, targeted at consumers who are health-conscious but still want to have a good time

The Prime Time Lager range brings two lagers to market, boasting an amazing 95 calories only – which is 30 per cent less than standard premium beers. The lagers also only include 4g of carbs (63 per cent less than standard premium beers) and are both vegan-friendly and gluten-free.

The Game Changer has also been caffeine-infused, with the beers expertly brewed in the UK using top-quality ingredients.

In addition, the brand has pledged to support the homeless community in the UK by sharing a profit percentage and initiating activations that allow consumers to actively lend a hand where they can.

Made In Chelsea continues on Monday at 9PM on E4.
