And actress Melissa Suffield shared a glimpse of her life as a mum on Instagram on Monday as she larked around with her beloved boy.

Matching her bikini top with her son River’s brown, white and black leopard-print wetsuit, the actress, 28, donned a pair of black high waisted bottoms for an afternoon in the paddling pool.

‘River had a blast moving ball pit balls from pool to playpen all day over and over again, and amazingly, he handled the heat like a champ…

‘I know it’s ‘freedom day’ today, and while it’s cool that we’re all excited, just remember that it’s ok to feel uneasy about what that means for you, your family, and your safety.

Empowering: Melissa shared this caption alongside one of the snaps

‘I’m going to keep wearing my mask, and I’m going to remain super cautious while out and about, to protect myself, River, and everyone else for that matter.

‘How are you feeling? Nervous? Still riding the high of the weekend?’

It comes after the body confidence advocate urged fans to realise that their children don’t ‘care what shape you are’, as she displayed her post-baby curves while cuddling her son River in an Instagram snap last month.

Melissa was seen relaxing on a sofa in a grey bra as her child wrapped his arms around her torso for comfort, and she shared an empowering message about mothers and their figures.

And in her empowering message, Melissa, who played Lucy Beale in the BBC soap, wrote: ‘Your kid loves you so much.

‘Your kid doesn’t care what shape you are, or how many rolls you acquired while growing them. Your kid doesn’t care that you’re so tired some days that you can barely see straight.

Happy: In her empowering message to other mums, Melissa wrote, ‘Your kid doesn’t care if you’re in pyjamas, or your hair is a mess, or you haven’t showered in a couple of days’

‘Your kid doesn’t care that you might not ever get back in that pre-pregnancy bra that always had you feeling your best.

‘Your kid doesn’t care if you’re in pyjamas, or your hair is a mess, or you haven’t showered in a couple of days. That your jeans are tight, or your top is snug, or your a**e isn’t pert anymore.’

She went on: ‘Your kid doesn’t see any of that. They see warmth, security, comfort, fun, play.

Sweet: Melissa went on, ‘Your kid doesn’t see any of that. They see warmth, security, comfort, fun, play. They see you trying your best for them every damn day… They see home’

‘They see you trying your best for them every damn day, even when you really want to run away and just catch a few hours alone.

‘They see you showing up and turning it out. They see full bellies and warm beds and clean clothes. They see home.’

It comes after Melissa shared her worries about taking on ‘100% of the parenting’ of her son River as her fiancé Robert Brendan has started a new cruise ship job.
