Wayne Lineker posts cringe ad for young girlfriend who can cook and give up job for him

Wayne Lineker has left the internet cringing after posting an advert to find himself a new girlfriend.

The club owner, who is the younger brother of Gary Lineker, is after someone much younger than him who likes to cook, is willing to give up her career for their relationship and doesn't have any "baggage".

The 58-year-old said he didn't want a woman his own age because it would "look weird" and ideally wants a 30-year-old, though would graciously accept someone who is 28 or 29.

After he shared the advert to Instagram he was slated by his followers, with one calling it the "worst thing I've ever read".

Wayne also posted a picture of himself wearing sunglasses outside Ocean Beach Club.

Then he went on to list all of the attributes he is looking for in a woman, including normal things like "strong nice loving personality".

But then things took a turn for the weird, as he continued: "You must like older men but only me…You have to be a worldie and above 30 (Ok 28 29 could work) but not my age as that would just look weird.

"You must like to travel and to fly business class and stay in incredible hotels. Be prepared to give up your career or job or at least be able to work from a laptop on a tropical beach somewhere.

"You will need to spend the summer in ibiza and the winter in Dubai with 2 weeks in Uk for Christmas and new year with the families and holidays to the Maldives…

"No baggage as mine are all grown up. A dog is acceptable but will need a passport.

"You must be able to cook as I love cooking, especially Waitrose ready made meals."

Wayne also promised to get his future partner verified on social media.

He also said he wanted them to like only house music and R&B and Netflix.

Wayne continued: "You need to be confident enough to be able to go to the front of the queue in nightclubs and accept a table and free drinks from the owners.

"You will need a driving license to share a Bentley and a Lamborghini Jeep (pending) ..you must never have shared a teeth whitening post!!"

He doesn't want the woman to be on dating sites or Only Fans and he wants them to keep fit and healthy, as he "will soon".

Wayne added: "Accept and love my children and grandchildren and realise no more kids for me.. (never say never though)."

His personal assistant has to buy everything for the woman and she must accept Wayne's friends.

He finished: "One last thing. Your geography needs to be on point as girls that think Lincoln is in Wales is not good. Be intelligent but not boring. Outgoing suits."

It's unclear whether Wayne was joking or not, as he finished the post with the hashtags #wifeywhereyouat #banter #real.

But the list of requirements was slated by his followers, with one writing: "Worst thing I've ever read."

"Who on earth would want to be with you after writing that?" another said.

A third agreed: "Girlfriend might be the wrong term. A girlfriend will have her own personality, values, interests and tastes."

Andy Cole reckons Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side can bring Manchester United back to their free-scoring glory days – even without Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devils found a new lease of life after lockdown as they scored 22 goals in their final nine Premier League games to reach the top four last season.

A big-money move for England international Sancho looks increasingly unlikely with the club unable to agree a fee with Borussia Dortmund.

But Cole believes former team-mate Solskjaer has already instilled a system which gives them an opportunity to close the gap on rivals Liverpool and Manchester City.

And the former Golden Boot winner reckons Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood are ready to cope with the responsibility of delivering the goods.

Cole, speaking to the Mirror following his involvement in BGC Charity Day 2020, raising millions for charity including Oasis Charitable Trust, said: “Ole’s got Man United playing the way Man United should be playing – attacking football.

“Some of the signings Ole’s made have made Manchester United better, more creative.

“I think he’s got them playing with a freedom now that they should be playing with and that’s what everyone wanted to see.

“I think they (the front three) are all good enough to hold that responsibility of scoring goals. They played very well last season, all contributing and creating chances.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already brought in Donny van de Beek but Jadon Sancho remains Manchester United's number one target.

However, they have so far failed to agree a deal with Borussia Dortmund and are considering Gareth Bale as an alternative.

“If they can carry that form into this season, continue doing the right things then I’d like to think Manchester United can kick-on from last season.”

After landing goalscoring midfielder Donny van de Beek from Ajax for £40million, all eyes are now on whether any more new faces will arrive at Old Trafford before the October 5 deadline.

“Manchester United are a team that look to add players in every season,” Cole says.

“We keep talking about a centre-back, but United have so many centre-backs at the moment I’m not sure how many more than can actually buy.

“Especially nowadays, centre-backs seem to be more expensive than centre-forwards so it’s a challenge to strengthen any more there. It’ll be interesting to see what they do there.

“Jadon Sancho, if that deal comes off, it would be a coup, but if that deal doesn’t come off then I’ve got no doubts they’ll have their eye on whoever else they feel could make their team stronger.”

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has concerns over as many as 11 players, going into the Premier League opener with Crystal Palace this weekend.

United were given an additional week to prepare for the new season, after their Europa League exploits saw last campaign run into August.

While many of their top-flight rivals were in competitive action over the weekend, Solskjaer was able to arrange one final tune-up match vs Aston Villa.

But despite that, United have a lengthy list of players who may be unavailable for Saturday’s clash.

The MEN report that Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Fred, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Eric Bailly only returned to full training on Monday, while Bruno Fernandes started only days before.

Phil Jones is fit, but is unlikely to be selected, with the chance of him completing an Old Trafford exit before the end of the window. Sergio Romero is in the same boat, but he has yet to return to training as he seeks a move.

Meanwhile, Mason Greenwood is still training in isolation after returning to Carrington last week. The United striker was sent home from England duty after breaching Covid-19 guidelines in Iceland last week. It is understood that Greenwood has taken a test to confirm whether he is still a risk to other teammates, with Solskjaer set for talks with the youngster.

Axel Tuanzebe is definitely out for the visit of Palace as he continues his recovery from a long-term injury.
