What's in a name? Quite a lot if you're trying to turn it into your bread and butter and make a global brand.
Which is why many a star chooses to do away with their civilian title and adopt something altogether more glamorous and memorable.
From Kelly Parsons becoming Kelly Brook to Denise Welch's birth name of Jacqueline and a Mr Anthony Beke's ballroom makeover to Anton Du Beke, the celebs love to stash away their real names.
But it isn't always an upgrade! From secret posh monikers to ones that really are a mouthful, Mirror Online reveals which stars have quietly changed their names to make it in the fame game.

If you think you know everything there is about Katie Price then think again.
Because Katie Price isn't her name. And neither is Jordan.
When she was born in Brighton in 1978, her mum Amy couldn't decide which name to pick out of her list of favourites.
So she gave her them all and named her Katrina Amy Alexandria Alexis Infield
Katie wasted no time in changing it when she turned 17, and once sniped, “I hated [my name]. I don't know what my mum was thinking!”
She dropped her birth dad Ray's surname after he left when she was four, and instead took the last name of her mum's second husband, Paul Price.
So where does the whole Jordan thing come into it?
Katie adopted the moniker when she launched her glamour modelling career, explaining her mum didn't want people to make the association between them.
“My mum was working in the City," she told the Telegraph.
“She didn’t want people to know I was her daughter.”

Darcey, 51, was born to Australian businessman John Crittle and mum Andrea Williams, but they divorced when she was three and Darcey took her step-father's surname.

Kit Harrington didn't even know what his real name was!
Even Kit didn't now that Kit wasn't his real name!
It wasn't until the Game of Thrones star turned 11 that he discovered that his real name was actually Christopher.
He told Glamour magazine: "I think they could see that I wanted to be Kit, but Christopher was a bit of a tradition.
"My brother's name is Jack, but his real name is John. Kit is traditionally an offshoot of Christopher, it's just not used that often. My middle name is Catesby."

Liam Gallagher's name has regal roots
(Image: Getty Images)
There's something infinitely hard about the name Liam – probably because it's associated with the foul-mouthed Oasis rock star.
However, the singer's real name is actually much more regal.
Liam was actually born William John Paul Gallagher – the middle names a shout out to Beatles John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
And his Irish parents Thomas and Peggy reportedly chose to shorten his name to Liam while he was growing up in Manchester.

Gogglebox fans were stunned when the ITV host's mum blurted out his real name back in July.
Born Ross Richard Clark, his family still call him by that to this day.
However, Rylan has changed his name not onc, but twice. First when he started modelling and was told by his agent that the name 'Ross' was boring and he was dubbed Kielan instead.
But he wasn't happy with it and was rootling through a baby name book in WH Smith when he happened across the name Rylan.
