R&B singer Jaheim Hoagland, known as Jaheim, has been charged with animal cruelty after police found up to 15 starving dogs trapped in cages filled with faeces outside his home.
The Ghetto Love singer, 44, is facing a charge of third-degree animal cruelty after one of the animals had to be euthanised, according to a press release from the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.
According to the statement, six dogs were found in crates on the driveway of the singer's New Jersey home.
While nine more were found in "varying stages of emaciation, without access to food and water", prosecutors said.
The gruesome scene was uncovered after the Hillsborough Township Police Department responded to a report of a "puppy in distress" on September 6, just after 9am, the press release reports.

The dogs reportedly found outside the singer's home have all been taken to kennels
In the statement, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said: "One of the dogs located was initially unresponsive in a water filled crate and subsequently had to be euthanised.
"Additional dogs were found inside of separate crates which were partially filled with several inches of water and dog feces.
"An additional nine dogs were located inside of the residence in varying stages of emaciation, without access to food and water."
In total 12 mixed-breed pit bull terriers, two American Staffordshire terriers and one mixed-breed boxer were rescued by the Police.
However, sadly, a mixed-breed pit bull terrier was found unresponsive and had to be put down, according to officials.
Two of the recovered dogs were said to be transported to a vets for emergency treatment due to their poor condition.
The statement said that Jaheim was at the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
"The incident remains under investigation by the Hillsborough Township Police Department and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office," the report added.
The R&B singer released his debut album Ghetto Love in 2001. His singles Put That Woman First and Fabulous both of which were released in 2003 both achieved platinum success.
