Musician Ronnie’s outing came after he wished his best friend Rod Stewart a happy birthday with an animated snap on Instagram.

The Do Ya Think I’m Sexy hitmaker celebrated his 77th birthday on Monday, and Ronnie posted on his social media story with a picture of them both pressing their noses against one another.

The pair are often mistaken to be related because of their similar noses, and Ronnie poked fun at the assumptions as he wrote ‘Happy birthday Roderick’ with two nose emojis.

Rod and Ronnie have been friends since 1969 when they were both members of rock group Faces.

Although the band parted ways in 1975, the pair kept in touch, with Rod serving as best man to Ronnie’s wedding to Sally in 2012.

Last month, Ronnie gifted Rod a portrait he made for him as a Christmas present.

Rod took to Instagram to share a snap of himself posing in his home alongside the giant painting.

Back in May, Rod could not stop smiling as he finally got to embrace his good pal Ronnie after lockdown restrictions were eased.

Hugs had been a no-go throughout the pandemic, with friends and family members living in different households having to miss out on physical contact for a year.

And the two rockers wasted no time in wrapping their arms around each other while at The Arts Club in London with their glamorous wives Penny Lancaster, 50, and Sally, 43.
