Seth Meyers reveals his daughter Adelaide was born in a BATH TUB

Seth Meyers appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show on Friday, where he talked about his daughter’s home birth.

The 48-year-old personality explained that he and wife Alexi Ashe, 39, planned to deliver Adelaide, eight months, at home after their sons’ unexpected births in an Uber and apartment building lobby.

‘She was a planned home birth because the doorman said, “We would prefer if you didn’t even try,”‘ he joked.

He joked that the doorman said, ‘We are still working through the trauma of your 4-year-old and if you could just keep the whole thing in your apartment that would be great.’

His son Axel, born in 2018, didn’t even make it to the car, like older brother Ashe did in 2016.

Adelaide, the couple’s first daughter, was born in the bath tub and the comedian jested that he hasn’t taken a bath since.

He noted that once they committed to the home delivery, there was no backtracking: ‘And also it’s way too late, like when your wife is in the tub and the baby is coming, you can’t be like, “We got to get to a hospital. What were we thinking?”‘

While visiting the long-running show, which is now in its final season, the late night TV host also talked about raising his kids in the Big Apple.

‘First of all, having kids in New York City, my kids are already cooler – they’re [cooler] at six and four than I was until, like 33,’ he mentioned.

Meyers then shared with the audience how he didn’t think through taking his son to school on a self-propelled scooter.

‘I didn’t think how this would look, but I take a scooter – I am on a scooter too – and my son and I go to school. And the two of us, I think, together people see us and they’re like, “Oh, my god, that’s so cute – look at that man and his son!”

‘But then the thing you don’t realize is you gotta drop him off, and then you just gotta be a grown man [on a scooter],’ he explained as the audience laughed.

The literary work was released in March, published by Penguin Kids.

While speaking with Ellen he said lightly, ‘I wrote it out of pure ego of wanting to prove to my kids I’m just as good as the people that wrote the books I was reading to them.

And the thing that scares me is them not thinking it’s as good as the other books.’
