‘She makes my heart whole’: Danniella Westbrook shares sweet tribute to rarely-seen daughter Jodie

Danniella Westbrook paid tribute to her 20-year-old daughter Jodie this week, gushing that she ‘makes my heart whole.’

The 48-year-old actress shared a pouting selfie of them on her Story, shedding light on their repaired relationship.  

Danniella, whose battle with drugs has been well-publicised, revealed in 2019 that she hadn’t spoken to Jodie for three years, which was ‘very difficult’ especially ‘since she’d been ill’ – referring to her womb cancer battle.

The Londoner shares Jodie with ex-husband Kevin Jenkins, who she was finally granted a divorce from in 2020 – six years after they separated.

She also has a son, Kai, 25, with ex-partner Robert Fernandez. 

After splitting with Robert, the TV star married van driver Ben Morgan in 1998 after knowing him for eight weeks but they divorced nine months later. 

In January 2019, Danniella admitted on the Jeremy Vine TV show Jodie had been living with her father Kevin amid her terrifying stalker ordeal and devastating womb cancer battle.

While they hadn’t communicated in a long time, the troubled star confessed that her ‘gorgeous’ and ‘brilliant’ daughter was in a ‘safer and much better environment’ and was doing well in college.  

While she was estranged from Jodie, she had a much closer relationship with Kai, who she admitted had ‘looked after her since she’s been sick.’

‘He’s been great to me and he’s good mate as well as anything else. He’s come through a lot of stuff and he’s a great kid and we’re very close.

‘People think my son is my carer, that’s not true. He’s a very well put together kid. My son didn’t lose his childhood, he’s had a very privileged one at times and a very poverty stricken one at times, that’s what people don’t understand.  

‘People think he has been born with a silver spoon in his mouth but he really hasn’t he’s lived in homeless shelters and in my car with me. There’s been times when he’s had to stuff for us to survive,’ she stated.

It came amid the actress beginning reconstruction surgery after osteoporosis rotted away her cheekbones and gums.

Danniella made the decision to undergo surgery after her previous addiction to cocaine and a botched surgery in 2015 left her with decaying bones.  

At the height of her drug use, it was reported she would take up to five grams of cocaine a day, blowing close to £250,000 on the drug.

The star has since embarked on multiple rehab stints in order to battle her demons – and revealed she was finally clean in June 2020, after attending a clinic in Mijas, Spain.
