Sister Wives’ Brown family appears on the verge of collapse in teaser for season 16

The Brown family is in crisis in the new trailer for TLC’s Sister Wives.

Kody Brown and wives Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn struggle with being separated amid the ongoing pandemic in the teaser clip for the November 21st premiere.

While patriarch Kody engages in a bit of a power struggle with wife Robyn, 43, over Covid rules, his first wife Meri, 50, is considering whether she should ‘stay’ with the family, who have been settling after their move from Utah to Arizona.

Mr. Brown makes it clear his policy is safety first in the two-minute teaser.

‘When it comes to the COVID virus, I’m not willing to gamble a family member’s life,’ Kody, 52, declares.

‘I am the only one that’s going from home to home.’

Christine, 49, admits the family connection has been strained, telling the cameras: ‘Do you know what COVID’s brought out, is how much we want to be a family. We’re not.’

Then during a family meeting, Robyn is seen handing out a long list of Covid rules for the group.

‘I didn’t make up these rules,’ she explains before adding: ‘Kody is not somebody to be run by one of his wives.’

Change of scenery: Kody and wives were still settling after their move from Utah to Arizona

The next scene shows Kody ask her: ‘Are you the head of the family?’

He admitted he was upset by her behavior, telling cameras: ‘It’s pissing me off, they’re looking to Robyn for some kind of approval. I don’t have a head wife in this family.’

Meanwhile, Meri, 50, wonders whether she should ‘stay’ with the family, saying: ‘I’ve considered everything.’

Christine, who is looking to move back to Utah from Flagstaff, Arizona, questioned if her husband even wanted to reunite the family, saying: ‘I don’t know if Kody even wants to see everybody all together again, maybe he’s fine just living separate.’

Then Robyn cries: ‘It’s made me feel that the foundation that our family was built on is crumbling, I don’t know.’

Christine and Kody have a one-on-one conversation in the next scene, where she tells him: ‘I would move to Utah in a heartbeat, are you kidding me? 

Upset: Christine, who is looking to move back to Utah from Flagstaff, Arizona, questioned if her husband even wanted to reunite the family, saying: ‘I don’t know if Kody even wants to see everybody all together again, maybe he’s fine just living separate’

Crumbling: Robyn cries: ‘It’s made me feel that the foundation that our family was built on is crumbling, I don’t know’

‘Is it on the table still?’ she wonders before Kody firmly dismisses the possibility in a confessional.

She’s then seen walking away from the conversation, saying: ‘I’m not going to talk to you.’

Christine reflects on their situation with producers, asking: ‘Why would I want to live on the same property with a dysfunctional marriage where right over there, he’s got a full-functioning marriage.’ 

‘Who would ever want to live like that?’ she says as the clip closes.
