Thomas Tuchel has provided updates on the injuries sustained by Ben Chilwell and N'Golo Kante in Chelsea's resounding Champions League win over Juventus.

The Blues leapfrogged the Old Lady at the top of Group H after a dominant 4-0 victory saw Tuchel's men inflict the Italian side's heaviest ever defeat in the competition.

Academy graduates Trevor Chalobah, Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi gave Chelsea a commanding lead with less than an hour played before substitute Timo Werner put the icing on a stunning team performance by tapping in the fourth deep into added time.

It wasn't quite the perfect night for Tuchel and Chelsea however, as the influential pair of Kante and Chilwell were both forced off with injury concerns ahead of the visit of Manchester United in the Premier League this weekend.

Kante was replaced by Ruben Loftus-Cheek after only 37 minutes while Cesar Azpilicueta deputised for Chilwell as both succumbed to knee issues.

"[Chilwell] has a sharp pain in the knee. N'Golo as well. He twisted his knee a little bit, we will tell you tomorrow more when both will be examined," Tuchel told BT Sport after the match.

"These are very sad because N'Golo was fantastic until this moment when he went off. Chilly is in a fantastic moment, so so important and for him personally so so strong, so we hope for the best."

While Tuchel awaits further clarification on the extent of the setbacks, the news comes as a blow to the Premier League table-toppers who could be without the key pair on Sunday.

Weekend opponents Manchester United claimed a 2-0 win in their European fixture against Villarreal as caretaker manager Michael Carrick steered the Red Devils back to winning ways ahead of their Stamford Bridge visit.

The industrious Kante has missed a few games already this season through injury but has looked sharp of late having netted against old side Leicester in last weekend's comfortable 3-0 triumph at the King Power.

Chilwell has been in fine form for Chelsea this season but could miss the weekend's clash with Man Utd

Chilwell has also impressed on the left this season having registered three goals and one assist after forcing his way back into Tuchel's starting XI at the beginning of October.

On Tuesday night, Chalobah opened the scoring on his first Champions League start, dispatching a loose ball which fell to his feet in the aftermath of a corner that wasn't cleared.

Chelsea then struck twice within three second-half minutes shortly before the hour mark as James fizzed in an arrowed effort and Hudson-Odoi finished off a fine team move.

Substitute Werner then capped a mightily impressive night for the Blues as he tapped in Hakim Ziyech's low cross after Juve's Weston McKennie made a hash of clearing James' cross-field ball.

In a dominant display, Chelsea boasted 73% possession and attempted 16 shots on goal as they inflicted the Italian side's heaviest defeat in any competition since 2004.

The result means Tuchel's men have secured qualification for the Champions League last 16 as they look to defend the European crown they won with victory over Premier League rivals Manchester City back in May.
