Back in December 2019 Liverpool had just completed the signing of Takumi Minamino from Salzburg for the small cost of his £7.25million release clause.
And Reds manager Jurgen Klopp gushed about his new recruit, hinting he may raid Salzburg for more stars in the future.
"He's a very good player – I can say that," said Klopp of Minamino. "But I saw a few in the Salzburg team, much more than I wanted!"
Minamino wasn't the first player signed by Liverpool to come through the ranks at Salzburg.

Liverpool clearly believe that the Austrian club produce good players.
So who might be on the Reds' radar and just who was Klopp referring to?
Of course, we will never know for sure, not unless Klopp does indeed sign another Salzburg player in the near future.
But three players who could be of interest to the German are: Patson Daka, Jerome Onguene and Karim Adeyemi.

Daka has long been linked with a move to Liverpool.
The 22-year-old striker possesses electric pace and works well as an inside forward, which would make him a perfect replacement for the likes of Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane, should one of them leave at the end of the season.
Onguene, meanwhile, is a young centre-back who has been at Salzburg since 2018 and who is currently on loan at Genoa.
The Cameroonian is highly-rated and at 23, has time on his side.

Like Daka, the youngster, who came through the ranks at Bayern Munich before joining Salzburg in 2018, possess a lot of pace and can play either on the wing or up front – and Klopp likes versatile players.
