Virgin Media’s Claire Brock responded to one viewer's hilarious revelation this morning and has gained major kudos for her quick wit.

A man named Philip Nolan took to Twitter to post a snap of what looked like an empty cocktail glass beside Brock as she was presenting The Tonight Show.

Alongside the image of what he saw he posted the explanation, and wrote: “I think I’m going slightly mad.

“I looked up at the television and wondered why Claire Brock had a cocktail glass on her desk on #TonightVMTV.

“Then I remembered I emptied the dishwasher earlier and left it there to put away in the sideboard under the telly.”

Brock responded to the viewer’s post with reference to Boris Johnson in the wake of admitting to attending a party during a previous lockdown and wrote: “It was a work event.”

People have been loving the response and hailing the Irish presenter’s sense of humour, with one writing: “Sorry, this is actually hilarious. Followed.”

A second person said: “Really does look like the cocktail glass was belonging to you. ‘Tis gas.”

Another responded writing: “You win Irish Twitter today Claire!”

While a fourth said: “Absolutely elite tweet.”
